Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz and R&B in a distinct mix. She's performed all over from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine's given title is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta Her roots lie located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to grow as an artist by playing the piano as well as singing in churches. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the city's R&B Scene. The singer has also provided her voices in The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls The stage show in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform during President Obama's 2009 inauguration.
